Iron Ore Concentrate
Total Concentrate Production to Date
What is Iron Ore Concentrate?
1
High Iron Grade
With iron grades reaching approximately 67% Fe, iron ore concentrate is considered one of the highest-quality feed materials within the steel value chain.
2
Ease of Transportation
It can be transported via all standard logistics methods—road, rail, and sea—provided appropriate measures are taken to prevent contamination, mixing, or material loss during handling.
3
Safe and Stable
4
High Purity
Its low impurity content significantly enhances its efficiency as a primary feedstock in pelletizing and steel production processes.
5
Cold Drying
The material can be effectively dried even at sub-zero temperatures, facilitating optimized transportation and handling in cold climates.
Applications
Pelletizing
Direct Reduced Iron Production
Crude Steel Production
Iron Ore Concentrate Production Process
Crushing
The extracted iron ore is reduced in size to below a few millimeters through multiple stages of crushing. This step prepares the material for efficient downstream processing and liberation of iron-bearing minerals.
Magnetic Separation
Impurities such as silica, alumina, and manganese are removed through magnetic separation, allowing the iron content to be upgraded and concentrated to the desired grade.
Dewatering
Moisture content is reduced to below 10%, and final impurity removal is completed. This stage ensures the concentrate meets transportation, storage, and downstream processing requirements.
Moving Toward Green Iron Ore Concentrate
Precise monitoring and measurement of the carbon footprint of concentrate products
Implementation of greenhouse gas reduction programs across production lines
Optimization of energy consumption through equipment and process modernization
Implementation of sustainable tailings management and waste reduction
Improvement of water recycling cycles and reduction of water resource consumption
